Q: What services do you provide?
A: Christian Asset Management provides the second class in the Bankruptcy process. This class is commonly referred to as Debtor Education, Personal Financial Management Course, or Pre-Discharge class.
Q: How do I sign up for this class?
A: Go to www.christianasset.org and click on the register link on the upper right of the screen. After entering and saving your registration info, you will be logged out and sent an email. Check your email for your password. You will use the login ID you created and the password sent to you via email. Login to your account, verify information is correct and pay for the class. Once you complete the payment you can begin the class.
Q: Are you approved to issue a completion certificate in my State?
A: We are approved to issue completion certificates in all state except Oregon.
Q: Do you offer Credit Counseling Classes?
A: No, we do not offer the credit counseling class. For a list of approved providers in your state go to: http://www.usdoj.gov/ust/eo/bapcpa/ccde/cc_approved.htm and click on your state. After you complete the credit counseling class with another provider, please come back to Christian Asset Management and complete your second class from us.
Q: How much is the class?
A: The class is $ 25 per person
Q: I'm trying to register and it's asking me for a bankruptcy case number, I don't have a bankruptcy case number yet.
A: You are taking course two before course one. If you don't have a bankruptcy case number, you need to complete the credit counseling class first.
Q: My spouse and I were able to complete the first class together, Why can't we do that with this class?
A: Because this class is completed 100% online, there is no way for us to verify that both spouses participated in the class. If it were over the phone or in person it would be a different story. Husbands and wives are required to register, pay and complete the class in their own name in order to receive a completion certificate.
Q: I registered with my name and my spouses name but there is only one name on the certificate, can I get a certificate with both names?
A: No, we can not issue joint certificates. Husbands and wives must complete the class in their own name to receive their own certificate.
Q: Why can't I progress past page 8 to complete the first worksheet?
A: The class has timers in the course that will not let you progress until a certain amount of time has elapsed. To access worksheet one approximately 17 minutes needs to have passed.
Q: How much time do I have to spend on the worksheets?
A: Each worksheet will require you to spend at least 7 minutes and type data in all of the fields
Q: What if my goals are less than 15 words long?
A: Copy and paste your goals until you have 15 words in the field
Q: Why do I keep getting these security question popups?
A: If there is no browser activity for a few minutes, the computer will give you a popup to verify that you are still in front of the screen. If you don't answer the security question, or if you give the wrong answer, you will be logged out. You can't log in to the class and come back in 2 hours and expect to be done with the class. You will need to be in front of the computer actively involved in the class or you will get logged out.
Q: Why are there time limits in the class?
A: The class was written at a high school graduate reading level and is designed to be completed in 2 hours. Fast readers will not be able to complete the class any faster than 2 hours. The timers are in the class to set the pace and ensure that you have sufficient time for all the material. You can read fast and wait for the timer to catch up to you, or read slow and not have to wait for the timer.
Q: I have spent more time on the class than the timer indicates, why is the timer not accurate?
A: Log out and close all browsers and log back in to your account. This should give you an accurate account of your time spent in the class.
Q: Can I get my certificate today?
A: We will get you the certificate within 24 hours. If you need if faster, you can email us and we may be able to get it to you the same day.
Q: Can you send the certificate to my attorney?
A: Yes, we are happy to send it to your attorney. Please send us their email address along with your full name.
Q: Can I get a fee waiver or reduced fee for the class?
A: Yes. If you received a fee waiver for the credit counseling class, please send us proof of that waiver. If you did not receive a fee waiver, please email us and we will send you the waiver form to see if you qualify for a free or reduced fee class. Email us at contact@christianasset.org
